Happy St. Patty's Day

1 Week Old

So my little guy is one week old and is doing great. Besides getting his blood drawn about 10 times for the jaundice, a circumcision and a tongue clipping, he's been a CHAMP!!!! He pretty much eats, sleeps and poops but I guess that's what all newborns do. He is nursing really good but we were having latching issues due to him being tongue tied so he was leaving his mommy in pain so we went today and had his little frenulum clipped so he is no longer "tongue-tied" and I think his latching is a little better, I think it will get better and better each time. It's really cute because he keeps sticking his tongue out like he's got this whole new appendage and is testing it all out. He is doing better sleeping at night but will only sleep in his swing, arggghhh!!! We keep trying the bassinet but he just prefers to cry there so the swing it is for now! Last night he slept from 1130 until 5am so that was pretty nice and tonight we will give the bassinet a go again. Big sister is still a little rough with him but we are working on it. Daddy is in love with his little "mini me" and loves to cuddle with him at night and it is so precious!! I'm doing great, I seriously can't believe I just had a kid a week ago, I feel like I never had a baby, CRAZY!!!! Anyways, hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day tomorrow!

Jaundice

So...our little guy is a little yellow (jaundiced) and so we are still here in the hospital! My blood and his blood are incompatible so it is causing him a wee bit of trouble, he's getting jaundice much quicker than a normal newborn with jaundice so they are watching his blood levels really closely. I am waiting on the docs to come in and let me know the plan, if he has to start therapy or not and if we can do the therapy (phototherapy lights) at home or if we have to stay here. So, we'll know pretty soon what the plan is. As of now I have him naked in the sunlight because that works kind of like the phototherapy lights. Here are a couple pics of him getting his "sun tan". Hope it works!!!!!

Preston Thomas Rose

Preston is here!!!!! He came VERY quickly yesterday morning!! Got to the hospital at 930 and he was born at 1041. 7 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 in long. Mommy did this all natural (it was too late for an epidural), hurt like hell but was sooooooo worth it, he is beautiful and perfect!!!!! Baby and mommy are doing great and should be home by tomorrow!!! Oh, and big sister is in LOVE!!!!!!

Ok-can you tell I am really bored waiting on this obnoxious child to get out!!! I have been doing a lot of scrapbooking trying to get Addison's book up to date, in the past 2 days I have done 63 pages, whoa!!!! I just downloaded new baby girl and other girly digtal kits and I LOVE them so I will upload a couple of my favorites. Now these pics are from last March and April so they are a little old but sooo cute!!!
